Growing demands of material science and, in particular, in the field of nonlinear optics (NLO) encourage us to look for stable highly polarizable molecules with excess diffuse electrons. An unusual class of compounds called electrides comply with these requirements. Many attempts have been made, yet only few electrides have been synthesized as solids and none of them as molecular species. In this paper, a new theoretically designed molecular species with electride characteristics is reported. The idea of this molecular electride comes from the formation of electride-like features in the MgO crystal with defect F-centers. The geometry of the investigated molecule can be described as a Mg4O4 cube with one oxygen atom removed. In Mg4O3, two 3s electrons are pushed out from the inner area of the molecule forming a diffuse electride multicentered bond. Our calculations show that this electride-like cluster possesses a noticeably large first hyperpolarizability β=5733 au. At the same time, a complete cube Mg4O4 and Mg4O32+ without electride electron pair have much smaller β: 0 au and 741 au, respectively. This fact indicates the decisive role of the electride electron pair in NLO properties. Additionally, vertical detachment energies of isomers (VDE), excitation energies ΔE, polarizabilities α, and IR spectra were calculated. These properties, including β, are supposed to be observable experimentally and can serve as indirect evidence of the stable molecular electride formation.  相似文献

The human macrophage galactose-type lectin (MGL), expressed on macrophages and dendritic cells (DCs), modulates distinct immune cell responses by recognizing N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) containing structures present on pathogens, self-glycoproteins, and tumor cells. Herein, NMR spectroscopy and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were used to investigate the structural preferences of MGL against different GalNAc-containing structures derived from the blood group A antigen, the Forssman antigen, and the GM2 glycolipid. NMR spectroscopic analysis of the MGL carbohydrate recognition domain (MGL-CRD, C181-H316) in the absence and presence of methyl α-GalNAc (α-MeGalNAc), a simple monosaccharide, shows that the MGL-CRD is highly dynamic and its structure is strongly altered upon ligand binding. This plasticity of the MGL-CRD structure explains the ability of MGL to accommodate different GalNAc-containing molecules. However, key differences are observed in the recognition process depending on whether the GalNAc is part of the blood group A antigen, the Forssman antigen, or GM2-derived structures. These results are in accordance with molecular dynamics simulations that suggest the existence of a distinct MGL binding mechanism depending on the context of GalNAc moiety presentation. These results afford new perspectives for the rational design of GalNAc modifications that fine tune MGL immune responses in distinct biological contexts, especially in malignancy.  相似文献

The practical application of Shilov-type Pt catalysis to the selective hydroxylation of terminal aliphatic C−H bonds remains a formidable challenge, due to difficulties in replacing PtIV with a more economically viable oxidant, particularly O2. We report the potential of employing FeCl2 as a suitable redox mediator to overcome the kinetic hurdles related to the direct use of O2 in the Pt reoxidation. For the selective conversion of butyric acid to γ-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB), a significantly enhanced catalyst activity and stability (turnover numbers (TON)>30) were achieved under 20 bar O2 in comparison to current state-of-the-art systems (TON<10). In this regard, essential reaction parameters affecting the overall activity were identified, along with specific additives to attain catalyst stability at longer reaction times. Notably, deactivation by reduction to Pt0 was prevented by the addition of monodentate pyridine derivatives, such as 2-fluoropyridine, but also by introducing varying partial pressures of N2 in the gaseous atmosphere. Finally, stability tests revealed the involvement of PtII and FeCl2 in catalyzing the non-selective overoxidation of GHB. Accordingly, in situ esterification with boric acid proved to be a suitable strategy to maintain enhanced selectivities at much higher conversions (TON>60). Altogether, a useful catalytic system for the selective hydroxylation of primary aliphatic C−H bonds with O2 is presented.  相似文献

Devising sensors for the perrhenate anion in aqueous media is extremely challenging, and has seldom been reported in the literature. Herein, we report a fluorescence turn-on sensor for the perrhenate anion in aqueous media based on the aggregation-induced emission of a popular ultrafast molecular rotor dye, Thioflavin-T. The selective response towards the perrhenate anion has been rationalized in terms of matching water affinity, with the weakly hydrated perrhenate anion spontaneously forming a contact ion pair with the weakly hydrated ultrafast molecule-rotor-based organic cation, Thioflavin-T, which in turn leads to an aggregate assembly that provides a fluorescence turn-on response towards perrhenate. The sensing response of Thioflavin-T has been found to be quite selective towards the perrhenate anion when tested against anions that are ubiquitously present in the environment, such as chloride, nitrate, and sulfate anions. The formation of self-assembled Thioflavin-T aggregates has also been investigated by time-resolved emission and temperature-dependent measurements.  相似文献

The human KDM7 subfamily histone H3 Nϵ-methyl lysine demethylases PHF8 (KDM7B) and KIAA1718 (KDM7A) have different substrate selectivities and are linked to genetic diseases and cancer. We describe experimentally based computational studies revealing that flexibility of the region linking the PHD finger and JmjC domains in PHF8 and KIAA1718 regulates interdomain interactions, the nature of correlated motions, and ultimately H3 binding and demethylation site selectivity. F279S an X-linked mental retardation mutation in PHF8 is involved in correlated motions with the iron ligands and second sphere residues. The calculations reveal key roles of a flexible protein environment in productive formation of enzyme-substrate complexes and suggest targeting the flexible KDM7 linker region is of interest from a medicinal chemistry perspective.  相似文献

In the last decade, experiment and theory have expanded our vision of non-covalent interactions (NCIs), shifting the focus from the conventional hydrogen bond to new bridging interactions involving a variety of weak donor/acceptor partners. Whereas most experimental data originate from condensed phases, the introduction of broadband (chirped-pulse) microwave fast-passage techniques has revolutionized the field of rotational spectroscopy, offering unexplored avenues for high-resolution studies in the gas phase. We present an outlook of hot topics for rotational investigations on isolated intermolecular clusters generated in supersonic jet expansions. Rotational spectra offer very detailed structural data, easily discriminating the isomeric or isotopic composition and effectively cancelling any solvent, crystal, or matrix bias. The direct comparison with quantum mechanical predictions provides insight into the origin of the inter- and intramolecular interactions with much greater precision than any other spectroscopic technique, simultaneously serving as test-bed for fine-tuning of theoretical methods. We present recent examples of rotational investigations around three topics: oligomer formation, chiral recognition, and identification of halogen, chalcogen, pnicogen, or tetrel bonds. The selected examples illustrate the benefits of rotational spectroscopy for the structural and energetic assessment of inter-/intramolecular interactions, which may help to move from fundamental research to applications in supramolecular chemistry and crystal engineering.  相似文献

The biodegradability of phtalic acid esters in marine and freshwater environments was characterized by their binding free energy with corresponding degrading enzymes. According to comprehensive biodegradation effects weights, the binding free energy values were converted into dimensionless efficacy coefficient using ratio normalization method. Then, considering comprehensive dual biodegradation effects value and the structural parameters of PAEs in both marine and freshwater environments, a 3D-QSAR pharmacophore model was constructed, five PAE derivatives (DBP−COOH, DBP−CHO, DBP−OH, DINP−NH2, and DINP−NO2) were screened out based on their environmental friendliness, functionality and stability. The prediction of biodegradation effects on five PAE derivatives by biodegradation models in marine and freshwater environment increased by 15.90 %, 15.84 %, 27.21 %, 12.33 %, and 8.32 %, and 21.57 %, 15.21 %, 20.99 %, 15.10 %, and 9.74 %, respectively. By simulating the photodegradation path of the PAE derivative molecular, it was found that DBP−OH can generate .OH and provides free radicals for the photodegradation of microplastics in the environment.  相似文献
